This section gives you ideas on what you can do now that you feel better. You have more time, energy (maybe money) and mental sharpness and you are itching to do something with it all.

I have some ideas and I give you some personal glimpses of what I have been doing.

Travel
I'm not going to try to cover all possible travel destinations. As I've done on this entire site, I will give you as much information as I can about where I have been. I will also give you personal glimpses that you can't get from a travel brochure. So, let's jump into some places I've been.

Pursue A College Degree
Maybe you already have a college degree and have thought about getting another one. Maybe you never had a chance to finish or even start a degree. Now is the time.

Think about it. You have more time and money than you had in your 20's. Your mental sharpness is increasing. Why not test it by pursuing that degree?

For starters, try out the free MIT Open Courseware site. There are many subjects to choose from. Use this site to find out what interests you.

Become An Interpreter
This option combines travel with pursuing a degree. You may have started learning a foreign language as a way to keep mentally sharp and found that you had a knack for it. Or maybe you just really enjoyed it. Well, becoming an interpreter may be a good way to travel and meet new people at the same time.

Check out your local college or university for interpreter classes. Even some community colleges have great programs. One of the nice things about becoming an interpreter is that you don't need a complete university degree. A two year degree will do. Here is a pdf document showing you what is involved to get a interpreter or translator certificate. Although the college may not be near you, it will give you an idea of what to look for in your area.

Move To Another Country
Maybe you have a heart for orphans or the poor. Maybe you are fascinated with another culture. Now is the time to pursue it. Have you thought about retirement? There are many countries that value retirement age people.

Become A Teacher
You have so much valuable experience that would help the younger generation. What if you passed that on by becoming a teacher? Teaching at a community college does not require a teaching certificate in most states or even any teaching experience.
